Regional Rural Volunteer Resources

The activities of this program include:
Volunteer opportunities for community members 0-99+. Example: School groups, Adopt-a-grandparent, Adults, Palliative Care, Doula, TIPS. Volunteers are recruited for any appropriate request from any staff in hospitals and community health centres.

Evaluation Approach
The evaluation of this program includes:

• Orientation, 3 month (probation), Annual (the Volunteer fills out these evaluations)

Reason for Success
The program evaluation is successful because:

• We give immediate feedback to volunteers on their individual concerns and act upon them to make changes if appropriate.

Learning
Through the evaluation, we learned that:

• There are times of miscommunication to a volunteer
  
• Processes are not always adequate Improvements can be identified through volunteer feedback

Challenges
The challenges of doing this evaluation were:

• Asking the best questions on the evaluation
  
• Getting the evaluations back.
