Consumer Product Safety
Toys, cribs, baby walkers, cosmetics, lighters and chemicals are examples of the types of products that are regulated by Health Canada’s Product Safety Programme. Products are being introduced daily to the marketplace, some are regulated by our legislation and some are not. This session will introduce you to the Hazardous Products Act and Regulations, the challenges encountered by the Product Safety Programme and the opportunities to partner.

Community Spirit Program launched in Alberta. Nonprofit and charitable organizations based in Alberta will benefit from a new donor-driven grant program created to help increase private charitable donations in the province.
Program guidelines will be available by April 1. The annual grant submission deadline will be in October. - Donner Awards
Nonprofit social service agencies have an opportunity to win a share of $70,000 in prize money through the Donner Canadian Foundation Awards for Excellence in the Delivery of Social Services.
Deadline for submission is May 15, 2008.
