The
Role of Physical Activity in Ageing Well
To help promote SummerActive (a national, community-based campaign to
increase awareness about the importance of physical activity to health), the Alberta
Centre for Active Living produced a series of five Hot Topics in Physical
Activity
Hot Topics in Physical Activity #3
This issue focuses on Older Adults. Topics include:
- the benefits of physical activity for older adults;
- why some older adults may not be physical active;
- using physical activity to boost the positive effects of rehabilitation and
reduce the number of falls;
- preventing some of the declines associated with ageing.
If you would like to reprint a Hot
Topic in your newsletter, reproduce it on your web site, or distribute it to
others, please contact Kathy Garnsworthy, Communications and Marketing
Coordinator, Alberta Centre for Active Living, kathy.garnsworthy@ualberta.ca
