  • The Role of Physical Activity in Ageing Well

    To help promote SummerActive (a national, community-based campaign to increase awareness about the importance of physical activity to health), the Alberta Centre for Active Living produced a series of five Hot Topics in Physical Activity

    Hot Topics in Physical Activity #3

    This issue focuses on Older Adults. Topics include:
  • the benefits of physical activity for older adults;
  • why some older adults may not be physical active;
  • using physical activity to boost the positive effects of rehabilitation and reduce the number of falls;
  • preventing some of the declines associated with ageing.

Senior Friendly Resources Launched

In response to recommendations made in the SCAN report (Seniors Community Action for Nutrition), Dietitians of Canada and the Senior Friendly™ Program began a collaboration to develop Guidelines for a Senior Friendly™ Grocery Store and companion nutrition resources.
